‘We are now starting our Spring 2018 volunteer recruitment for our much anticipated in patient unit volunteer roles as well as a number of other exciting and innovative opportunities!

  • Gardening Volunteers for Hospice/Nursery Project

    Principal Duties and Responsibilities

    We are looking for a few ‘green fingered volunteers’ who can help and support these following activities. We are about to pilot a exciting new project with a local nursery.  Each week approx 8 nursery children will be escorted down to the hospice to work, play and learn in our Gardens. Helping our patients and volunteers enjoy the great outdoors, plants flowers, paint plant pots etc.

  • Way Finders (in partnership with Hunter Health Centre)

    Principal Duties and Responsibilities

    Hunter Health centre is looking to introduce this role in the main atrium of the building. Volunteers will be appropriately trained and supported to welcome visitors and patients into then centre, help guide them to where their appointment is or signpost them to local services and opportunities to improve their health, well being and quality of life. We are supporting this opportunity as part of the EK Volunteer Collaborative.

  • Roots and Fruits Helper (in partnership with Hunter Health Centre)

    Principal Duties and Responsibilities

    Roots and Fruits is a social enterprise which provides fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables at a low and affordable price. They base their stalls in places such as Hunter Health centre to encourage people to build more into their daily diets to benefit their Heath and well being. Volunteers would man the stall, sell the produce, engage with the public, encourage more fruit and veg in their diet, perhaps even give them recipe/meal ideas etc. We are supporting this opportunity as part of the EK Volunteer Collaborative.

  • Van Driver and Assistant

    Drivers / Assistant Retail Managers / Retail Manager
    Principal Duties and Responsibilities

    Key Tasks

    • Planning the most efficient route
    • Collecting donations from the homes of the public
    • Delivering sold items to customers
    • Moving stock between shops and the warehouse as required
    • Providing excellent customer service whilst dealing with the public
    • Engaging with the public to raise awareness of the work of Kilbryde Hospice and encourage the donation of quality goods
    • Participate as part of a team
    • Attend regular support and training sessions relevant to the role
    • Adhere to the policies and procedures of Kilbryde Hospice incl. absence procedure
