West of Scotland celebrities Robert and May Miller have raised an amazing £26,000 for Kilbryde Hospice through their annual Gay Ball, held in the Hilton, Glasgow.
May Miller said “The Gay Ball was started by myself, Robert and Cheri Treiffel 3 years ago, and all monies raised went to The Brownlie Unit in Gartnavel Hospital. We decided this year to give the money to Kilbryde Hospice as Susan and Willie Haughey are friends of ours and we know it will be appreciated and put to good use. All the acts that have appeared at the events have done so free of charge, which means everything raised goes straight to the cause.”
Robert and May visited the Kilbryde Hospice build site to hand over the cheque to Nicola Gunn, Fundraising Manager at Kilbryde Hospice. Nicola said “Robert and May, and their friends have raised such an amazing amount of money for Kilbryde Hospice and we can’t thank them enough.
Now more than ever we need the support of the public, to complete the construction of our hospice and a donation like this is simply wonderful.”
The construction of Kilbryde Hospice is due for completion this Autumn, where they will continue to provide care and support to the people of South Lanarkshire who suffer from cancer and other life limiting illnesses.
