Emotional distress and worry is not unusual among people affected by a life limiting illness. It is an understandable response to a traumatic experience. This distress is also felt by carers, relatives and friends including children.Talking about difficult thoughts and feelings in a safe and sensitive way with a counsellor can help. This can be done in one to one sessions or as a group.

Counsellors are also able to help young people at a difficult time and offer support and guidance to parents or carers.
