Three members of staff from Kilbryde Hospice recently attended, and presented posters at, the 2016 Strathcarron Conference. The two-day conference (held on 29th & 30th September) brought together palliative care health professionals from across the UK.
Kilbryde’s Lynsay Bain (Day Services Manager) and Janice Allan (Complementary Therapist Co-ordinator) presented their poster entitled ‘Emotional Touchpoints – Patient Centred Evaluation of Hospice Day Service’. Louise Gray (Care@Home Complementary Therapist) presented the poster she co-authored with former staff member, Louise Graham, entitled ‘Positive Contact in Palliative Care? Pilot Study: Efficacy of Person-Centred Complementary Therapies in Improving the Quality of Life of Care Home Service Users’.
Conference delegates heard from a number of prominent speakers, discussing issues relevant to the conference theme, ‘Living with Dying: Challenges Towards the End of Life’. Lynsay, Janice and Louise were delighted to attend on Kilbryde’s behalf, and learned a great deal from the event.
Posters will be on public display soon within Kilbryde Hospice.
