Did you know that Befriending Week runs from 1st – 7th November each year?
Here at Kilbryde Hospice, we have a fantastic team of dedicated, trained befriending volunteers because we believe that befriending is so important.
We asked our Care At Home Specialist Nurse, Sine MacDonald, what befriending really means:
“Many people in this modern society find themselves isolated, low in confidence and self esteem and lonely through life changing illness, disability or bereavement. The wonderful people who volunteer and offer their time to become befrienders reduce these issues and help the individual on a journey to find themselves again and help them move forward by promoting wellbeing. Their service is invaluable.”
