On Tuesday 30th September 2015, Kilbryde Hospice invited the winners of the Summer Raffle along to the hospice to receive their fantastic prizes.
The first prize of the car was won by Kim McWilliams.
“I bought raffle tickets for the Kilbryde Hospice Summer prize draw as I have been to all the Donna Mortimer Ballantyne Charitable Trust dinners and Ladies Lunches. I know how important it is for the hospice to raise as much money as they can and how we can all play apart in the fundraising to help this fantastic place,” said Kim, who lives in Glasgow. “I was in work the day that I got the phone call from the Hospice to say I had won the car and to say I was ecstatic and excited is an understatement, the girls and I in the office still have a giggle about it. You always think it will be someone else that wins big prizes but it just goes to show it could happen to you, you have to be in it to win it.”
The second prize of either a weekend in Amsterdam or Paris with Club Class Flights was won by East Kilbride Resident Miss Elizabeth Flanigan who purchased her ticket in the TSB bank in the town centre. Both winners were delighted to receive their prizes.
Throughout the summer, Kilbryde Hospice staff and volunteers were out in various locations in South Lanarkshire selling raffle tickets. Many local business also took up the challenge of selling tickets within their businesses. The winning tickets were drawn at the start of September by Lisbon Lion Bertie Auld and Rangers legend John Brown. More than 16,000 tickets were sold for the raffle and the Kilbryde Hospice would like to thank Phoenix Cars, The Blue Parrot Company and British Airways for helping them to secure the two amazing prizes and to Alexander Fraser Photography for photographing the car and the prize presentation.
Chloe Martin, Community and Events Fundraiser, for Kilbryde Hospice said, “Thank you to everyone who helped to support the hospice by promoting the summer raffle, selling tickets and of course buying tickets. Congratulations to both our winners!”
