We hope you all had a fantastic time at the Almada Suite for our Burns’ Ceilidh, we definitely did because at the end of the night an amazing £10,000 had been raised, so give yourselves a big round of applause.
Chloe Martin, Fundraiser at Kilbryde Hospice said “We would like to express our thanks to everyone who made our Burns Ceilidh a massive success. Special thanks goes to the gentlemen of Eddlewood Bowling Club who hosted the event at the Almada Suite and the South Lanarkshire Council staff for looking after us so well.
“We would also like to thank all of the local businesses who donated prizes for our raffle and Tunnocks for supplying tea cakes for the night and William Grant and Sons for providing whisky miniatures for the tables.”
If you weren’t there but you’ve seen some of the photos from the night, you will know that it was a bit of a crazy night, especially with the help of Kilbryde volunteer Ambassador Alex Watson and gentlemen of the Eddlewood Bowling Club who recited some of Burns’ poems in a way that only they could.
That was followed by a ceilidh that was headed by the ceilidh band the Tatties who got everyone up to have a great evening of Gay Gordons, Strip the Willow, Canadian Barn Dance and many crowd favourites.
