Young Nurse raises over £1500 for Kilbryde Hospice with Quiz Night

Amy Webster

A young nurse has raised £1500 for Kilbryde Hospice by holding a quiz night in her local pub. Amy Webster (23) organised a pub quiz in the Bonnie Prince Charlie where over 100 people attended to support the hospice.

The night started with a pub quiz testing those attending’s knowledge on everything from sport to famous television adverts to Disney trivia. Amy had also managed to secure some amazing raffle prizes such as an overnight stay in London with tickets to the Lion King Musical.

Amy explained why she chose to raise funds for the hospice “I have worked as a staff nurse in Hairmyres and I knew the invaluable support the hospice offers those affected by life limiting illnesses. I had heard that they were working towards opening their in-patient facility and I know the difference palliative care can make to the quality of life for the patient.”

Amy would like to thank everyone who supported the event by attending, bought raffle tickets and of course those who donated raffle prizes.

Community and Events Fundraiser, Chloe Martin said “We would like to say a special thank you to Amy who raised a fantastic amount of money for the hospice. Without the generosity people like Amy we simply wouldn’t be able to continue to offer the support and care we do to those affected by life limiting illnesses.
