Kilbryde Complementary therapy team visits McKillop Gardens

2 June, 2016

On Monday 23rd May Kilbryde Hospice Complementary Therapists, Janice and Louise, visited McKillop Gardens in order to show the staff how to provide a gentle hand pamper treatment for their service users.

This came about as Care@Home are currently doing a pilot providing therapies for service users with a progressive life limiting illness. The positive results the staff have seen have made then all keen to learn more about complementary therapies and what they can do.

11 Staff members took part and all staff were very enthusiastic about learning this new skill which can help improve sleep, improve sense of wellbeing, improve mood, reduce anxiety, decrease depression, alleviate social isolation and alleviate pain in their service users. Pictured are 3 staff holding their certificates after the class and the second picture is a very keen attendee that left theclass and went straight away to test her new skills on a colleague.
