Our In Patient Unit how to refer

The Donna Mortimer Ballantyne in Patient Unit opened in summer 2018.

In-Patient Unit

The Donna Mortimer Ballantyne Inpatient Unit opened Summer 2018. Our unit is purpose built to promote comfort, safety, dignity, privacy and provide individual person centred care. This care is carried out by our amazing team of staff and volunteers.

An admission to the Inpatient Unit for specialist palliative care is sometimes required for people being cared for at home or in hospital. Admissions can be for control of symptoms, or a period or rehabilitation or for end of life care.

The entire palliative care team aims to assess  the person’s symptoms and helps them self- manage their care whilst making sure patients and families are fully supported throughout their time with us. Our main aim is to allow people to return home or to a long term place of care.

“Kilbryde Hospice staff and volunteers were all amazing in making my mothers last weeks bearable and she was exceptionally looked after they went above everything we could have asked for, Many Thanks to all”

The length of stay varies from patient to patient however Kilbryde Hospice is not a long stay unit.
