Our lovely volunteer Rosina recently facilitated a jewellery making workshop for our Day Services group. The aim of the session was to introduce the skills to develop them at a later date/session to then make items to sell from the hospice, in order to raise funds.
The 7 patients chose their own beads and colours, and thought about who they were making their pieces for. The main skills developed by the group were increasing confidence, hand to eye co-ordination, manual dexterity and social interaction.
During the session, 3 patients purchased some of the sample bracelets and even bought some that were downstairs! The group were keen to tell their friends where they made then, and are keen to make more to raise funds for Kilbryde Hospice.
