Befrienders Day – join the team!

28 March, 2017

On Monday, our Care at Home Specialist Nurse and Befriender Co-ordinator, Sine, and our Care at Home Complementary Therapist, Louise, were delighted to welcome some of our befrienders into the hospice for some further training and peer discussion on the service.

Sine provides support and training to our befrienders, and she matches befrienders with patients. Pictured is Sine and Louise along with befrienders Isobel, Maryann, Archie, Rose, Bonnie, Elizabeth and Tricia who volunteer 1-2 hours of their valuable time per week to visit a patient with a life limiting illness who is suffering social isolation.

We are constantly looking for new people to become befrienders at Kilbryde Hospice, as social isolation is a very current problem.

Why not give us a call on 01355 202020 for some more information!
