We were delighted to welcome Julie Bell and Ian Brady from the Vogue Bar Rutherglen to the hospice on Wednesday to present a cheque for £2,300. The money was raised from the annual Bobby Murdoch Memorial Cup which seen 7 football teams competed including, G72, G73, G32 Postal Workers, Kilbryde Hospice, The Vogue Bar, Chapmans Bar and the Murdoch Family Select.

The Memorial Tournament, now in its 10th year, seen the G32 Posties win by a point giving them the opportunity to lift the Bobby Murdoch Memorial Cup for the first time.
Bobby’s wife Kathleen watched all of the games and joined the 70 footballers at Vogue Bar in Rutherglen to award the winners with the trophy and also to remember the late great Bobby Murdoch.
Ian Brady said “my thanks to Franny Conway who pulls the tournament together and to everyone who was involved in giving donations towards the fundraising evening. We all had a great time.”
Julie said “seeing around the hospice for the first time really brings home the need for us to continue supporting such a worthy cause. I would encourage everyone to help in any way they can as the care and compassion displayed to everyone here is nothing short of amazing”.
