Brian Haughey – Season Long Walk 12 & 13

5 February, 2021

Hi All,

The month of January seen volunteers to join me disappear, obviously the January weather in East Kilbride had put a lot of people off. However, I still had walks to complete and I am grateful to see the back of January, a month when I had 4 walks to complete!

On Saturday 16th January, I was joined once again by Gordon McHugh to make the trip to Celtic Park. Gordon has been an amazing support throughout this challenge and he will not doubt complete 10 walks of his own before the season finishes in May, I think he’s at 7 already.

For walk 13 on the 30th of January, it was a real family affair, my mum, Anna, had been asking to join my for a while so I had to give in. We were also joined by my dad, Brian Snr, for his 4th walk of the season. Despite it being cold, it stayed dry for us and we completed the walk in 2 hours and 25 minutes. My mum and dad have supported me throughout this journey with plenty of encouragement as well as lifts and pick ups when required. I would like to take this opportunity to thank them for all their support.

February brings it own challenges and another 3 walks to complete. The first of which is on Saturday 6th February when I will be joined by Gordon McHugh and long time Hospice Supporter, Greg Anderson of Blue Parrot Ltd and Sanitiser Guys ltd. I am looking forward to both guys joining me.

Once again thank you all for your kind messages of support and sponsorship.

Stay safe

Brian
