Kilbryde Hospice were delighted to receive an amazing donation of £3070 (and counting!) from supporter Frank MacPherson, an employee at local company Multi Packaging Solutions.
Frank took part in the Mighty Stride, the 23 mile route in this year’s Glasgow Kiltwalk, on Sunday 29th April 2019. Frank completed the challenge as a sponsored event, raising funds for Kilbryde Hospice, in memory of friend Stuart MacLeod who was a patient within the in-patient unit at Kilbryde Hospice earlier in the year. Frank was supported by his friends, family and colleagues to raise this fantastic amount and was delighted when Multi Packaging Solutions pledged to match fund what he managed to raise.
Frank is incredibly inspired by Stuart. When asked, Frank described Stuart as “A special guy. He put up a great fight and supported so many people who were in a similar position to himself and who needed that support.”
Frank visited the hospice to drop off his donation alongside Stuart’s wife, Lynsey MacLeod and son, Cameron MacLeod.
Karlyn Robertson, Assistant Fundraising Manager at Kilbryde Hospice added “We are so grateful to Frank for taking on the gruelling Kiltwalk to raise funds for Kilbryde Hospice, and to Lynsey and Cameron for joining Frank to deliver the funds to us. We rely so heavily on the local community to be able to provide our services and it warms us to see Stuart’s friends and family fundraising in his memory.”
