Cala Homes (West) commits to Kilbryde Hospice ‘roof donation’

Cala Homes (West) has partnered up with a South Lanarkshire charity, based in East Kilbride for the duration of its time on its new development in Jackton.

The award-winning homebuilder has extended its local ‘roof donation’ scheme – which is already in place at developments in Newton Mearns and Glasgow City Centre – to Sequoia Meadows, giving buyers the opportunity to benefit a worthy local cause with the donation coming from Cala on their behalf.

For every legal completion for the lifetime of the development in the heart of the village of Jackton, Cala Homes (West) will donate £50 to the local hospice – totalling up to £8,650 across the 173 apartments and family homes set to be built.

The funds will be drip-fed into the hospice’s fundraising pot, allowing the team to channel the donations to their most urgent projects at any given time. The first stage of funding will go towards new flooring within the In-Patient Unit which is desperately needed. The local Cala Homes team will also give their time to help volunteer when possible.

To kick off the partnership, Cala Homes (West) Sales Consultant, Sarah Falconer, met the team at Kilbryde Hospice – which exists to provide compassionate, specialist palliative care to people with life limiting, progressive illnesses, and to their relatives and carers.
Sarah said: “It was fantastic to meet the team at Kilbryde Hospice and find out a little bit more about where our ‘roof donation’ funds will be going. They provide such compassion and care to people going through the most difficult experiences, and to know that we’ll be making even a small difference is wonderful.

“Knowing that each home sold will go towards such a great cause is even more motivation for us as a team, and we’ll be sure to spread the word on the work done by the hospice team to everyone visiting us on site.”
Gordon McHugh, Chief Executive of Kilbryde Hospice, said: “We’re thrilled to partner up with Cala Homes (West) at Sequoia Meadows, which is practically on our doorstep. The commitment they’ve made will go some way to helping us raise the funds we need each year to operate, and to continue delivering specialist palliative care – as well as support to relatives and families – in the most comfortable and safe environment possible.”
