Kilbryde Hospice and Motherwell FC Academy Partnership Success

20 June, 2019

Earlier in the year, 37 brave supporters took on the challenge of abseiling 30 metres off of the South Stand at Fir Park, home of Motherwell Football Club. The challenge was a partnership between Kilbryde Hospice and the Motherwell FC Academy. Supporters were asked to raise sponsorship, with 10% of the total being donated to Motherwell FC Academy and the rest to Kilbryde Hospice.

This week, we were delighted to visit Fir Park (feet firmly on the ground this time!) to present a cheque of £576.18 to Steven Hammell, Academy Director and David Clarkson, Head of Youth Programme. These funds will go directly to the Motherwell FC Academy to support youth development. Our brave supporters raised a total of £5761.80, meaning the remaining £5185.62 will be used here at Kilbryde Hospice to support those affected by life-limiting illnesses.

A huge thanks on behalf of Kilbryde Hospice and Motherwell FC Academy to everyone who braved the abseil, and to everyone who sponsored them for doing so. Here’s to the next one!
