New Year – Resolution time!

31 December, 2018

As we bring in the New Year that can only mean one thing – Resolution time!

To some this means eating healthier, joining the local gym, or to stop smoking. Another goal may be to become a more giving person. Here at Kilbryde Hospice, we are asking you to turn your resolutions into a charitable one. We want 2019 to be a great year for fundraising and to help us continue providing exceptional palliative care. Here are some tips on how you can turn your resolutions into a charitable one!

We have numerous volunteering and fundraising opportunities to help you stick to your New Year’s resolution whilst also helping a great cause.

Charity Shop donations

January is often an ideal time to get rid of the old and make room for the new. Why not have a look around your house and inside your wardrobes to see which items you could do without; these items can then be bagged up and donated to one of our four retail outlets.

Sponsorship

Doing something out of the ordinary and getting sponsored for it is a great way of helping out Kilbryde Hospice. It could be a fun (or not so fun) run, a sponsored silence, a bake sale, hold a Christmas jumper day in your work or school or even a sky-dive… It doesn’t matter what, you can do whatever makes you feel good, as you’ll be making money to help those who need it most whilst indulging in a bit of fun. Sponsored events is a great way to get companies and groups involved in charity work. If you would like more information you can contact us here

Why not sign up to the 2019 Kiltwalk – sign up here!

Everyone who takes part in the Kiltwalk, the money they raise will receive an additional 40% fundraising boost thanks to Sir Tom Hunter and The Hunter Foundation!

Volunteering

Volunteering is another satisfying activity for you to get involved in. If you can’t commit to a regular time then we would love to have you along for the day; you could even invite friends, family and colleagues along to share the experience with you. If volunteering is something you would like to learn more about, please visit our website, contact our volunteer recruitment team on 01355 202020 or email us at volunteerrecruitment@kilbrydehospice.org.uk

Monthly Donation

If – and only if – you can spare the money, why not consider setting up a standing order with your bank to send a regular donation to Kilbryde Hospice each month? It doesn’t have to be a fortune, a few pounds will be more than gratefully received. It’s easy to do – visit our website, or give us call on 01355 202020 for all the information you need.

Share our social media posts

One of the simplest ways you can give back is by spreading the word. Follow, Share, Retweet, Tag and forward – do whatever it is you do to tell friends and family more about Kilbryde Hospice. This is a great way to show your support while also spreading awareness.

We hope this list of ideas will help set your 2019 new years resolution. Whatever you decide the Kilbryde Fundraising Team will be there to offer you sponsor forms, t-shirts, collecting cans and posters and give you plenty of support and encouragement throughout. You can contact the team on 01355 202020 or fundraising@kilbrydehospice.org.uk
