Our Director, Dr John Richards, is awarded an MBE!

22 June, 2017

Kilbryde Hospice is this week celebrating the fabulous news that one of their Directors, Dr John Richards, has been awarded an MBE in the Queens’ Birthday Honours list 2017, for services to Palliative Care in South Lanarkshire.

John has been involved with the Hospice since he was approached by founder Chairman, Tony McGuinness, some 16 years ago and has been years in a voluntary capacity since as a Director and Board Secretary.

Chief Executive and Vice Chairman of the Hospice, Gordon McHugh, said he and his colleagues were so proud of John’s well deserved achievement. John is a caring and friendly gentleman and has been providing wisdom and clinical direction to the charity for so many years with a genuine interest in the care of patients and families, Gordon said the charity was fortunate to have John as a Director and the honour had come at just the right time as the hospice begins to move forward.
