Showjumping for Kilbryde Hospice!

20 September, 2017

A group of friends and family from East Kilbride and Strathaven recently put in a huge effort to organise a very successful fundraising event – a showjumping event for Kilbryde Hospice! Spectators and show-jumpers travelled from across South Lanarkshire, to take part on the day. The final total has now been announced, and an incredible £3616.60 was raised!

The event was organised by local East Kilbride residents Lesley and Adam Davidson, along with a large team of dedicated friends and family members.

Lesley Davidson not only helped to organise this event, but also volunteers every week at Kilbryde Hospice. When asked about the fundraiser, Lesley said:

“The idea for this project began when our family suffered many losses to cancer within a short space of time. We realised that our closest friends had also experienced similar losses to life-limiting illnesses over the years. That’s why we all came together to raise an amazing amount of money for Kilbryde Hospice, and had a truly lovely day in the process. Thank you so much to everyone who helped to make the day such a success!”

The event was held at West Kype Farm, Strathaven and was one of the busiest horse shows to take place there. We have been told that the day was so popular, it will now be an annual event, so keep your eyes peeled for the 2018 Showjumping for Kilbryde Hospice event!

We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who organised and attended the horse show. We hope you had a great time!

Kilbryde Hospice provides care and support to people across South Lanarkshire with life limiting illnesses, and extends this support to their carers and loved ones too.
