West Highland Way – Day 1

23 September, 2018

Our first blog post from our CEO has arrived – read all about the fantastic four’s first day tackling the West Highland Way!

“Well storm Ali didn’t threaten us at all however it had left some debris in our way. So our first day of the West Highland Celtic Way and we were blessed with good dry weather.
Leaving Milngavie was easy walking and the lads were making good time forging along the straightforward paths, through Mugdock Country Park seeing a little more debris to be negotiated However storm Ali wasn’t going to stop us now.

As we were making good time, we stopped for a while just outside Drymen with Father Frank celebrating mass before we headed into Queen Elizabeth Forest Park.
We eventually descended into Balmaha just before 5.30pm and stopped for a well deserved cuppa and to relax some tired legs.

Up and moving rather stiffly we head onto the Rowerdennan path route which led us to Milarrochy campsite for 6.30 and pitched our tents for the night.

Stevie and Paul served up a feast. However the rain is now upon us and it’s looking like a rather wet night.

Here we are pictured at the campsite thanking one of our sponsors EXCEL VENDING.”
