West Highland Way – Day 3

23 September, 2018

Fantastic effort from the guys so far – nearly there!! Here’s what our CEO, Gordon had to say about day 3.

“This morning started off with a light breeze and some light rain. To be honest it was like that for most of the day. However as I write this we are all rather red around the eyes which proved the sun we did see had an impact on the four of us.
We started off from Beinglas Farm with only a quick cuppa to start us off. However we knew within a few hours we would be meeting Tony Hamilton from the Celtic Foundation who had offered to treat is to a King sized breakfast at a wonderful cafe situated at Crainlarich train station. If you are ever in the area give it a shout as they promised to sponsor us.

This may sound silly, but the walk back up from Crainlarich to join the WHW again would have been a nightmare straight after that tightner so we joined the way a mile down the road as we had already added a mile to our journey heading into town. On our way again just after 12. However there was a bit of a wet turn so we got the waterproofs on and with our heads down powered through to Tyndrum.

Tyndrum to Bridge of Orchy was nothing short of amazing. The 6.5 mile route showed an expanse of glorious mountains leading us into the highlands.

I am personally quite embarassed as I didn’t realise you could take in such beauty on your own door step and I most certainly will see this again very soon.”
