Volunteers are at the heart of everything we do at Kilbryde Hospice. Their dedication and support are vital to the smooth running of our services.
However you volunteer, your time and skills directly support patients and their families when they need it most.
Join a team of passionate volunteers making a real difference in our community. We offer a range of roles—from increasing our Fundraising through helping at Events or our Retail Shops, to behind-the-scenes specialist support in areas such as Finance, IT, and Community Services
Whatever your skills or experience, there’s a place for you to contribute and grow with us.
Retail- Stock Management, Merchandisers, Till Operators, and Sales Advisers. ( Retail shops in Rutherglen, East Kilbride, and Hamilton)
Fundraising – To wear and interact as Hope the Squirrel Mascot, Collecting Money Cans from locations in South Lanarkshire ( car plus 2 people required for each run)
Community Services – Creative Arts Project.

Do I need to fill out an application?
Yes. All volunteers must complete an application and provide two references. This helps us understand your skills and interests. We aim to process applications within 4 weeks, depending on reference response times.
Is there a time commitment?
No fixed commitment is required. We appreciate any time you can give. Some roles (Retail, Cafe, Reception) ask for at least 3 hours per week, while others are more flexible.
What’s the minimum age to volunteer?
Volunteers can be 14+, but under-16s must be accompanied by a guardian at all times. For Patient-facing roles, the minimum age is 18
