Do I have to complete an application form?
Yes, we ask all potential volunteers to complete an application form. We also ask for two references from each applicant on the form. The application gives us an idea of the experience you can bring and whether you would like to use these skills in volunteering or if you are looking to gain new skills and experiences with us. We aim to have the application processed within 4 weeks. This can vary depending on referees’ response time.
Do I have to commit a certain amount of time to volunteering?
No – we are very grateful for any time that is given to us and we aim to find a role most appropriate for you and your lifestyle. Certain roles such as Retail, Kafe and Admin look for a minimum commitment of three hours per week. Other opportunities to volunteer can be on an ad-hoc basis.
What age do I have to be to volunteer?
In retail we can accept volunteers from the age of 14, however under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.
For most other areas we ask that you are 16 years and over. Areas that are patient-facing are considered on application.
