Brian’s Season Long Walk – Walk 5

2 October, 2020

The weekend passed marked Home Game 5 for Celtic and meant I faced the long walk to Celtic Park once again. This is the first time Celtic have had back to back home games so it meant there was no weekend off in between walks. I was joined this week by my younger brother Paul and our dad Brian tagged along, keeping social distancing in mind along the way.

Paul had decided pre-walk that he wanted to set the quickest time and showed this from the off with the first mile being completed in less than 15 minutes. I think that the pubs being forced to close at 10pm had a part to play in his haste as he was keen to visit long time Hospice supporting venue of The Cedarwood Bar in Toryglen soon after we finished. Paul had dragged Brian Snr and I to Celtic Park in the time of 2 hours and 17 mins taking 12 minutes off the previous quickest time. Needless to say we spent longer in the pub afterwards than we did walking!

Once again I would like to thank Paul for his time and his continued fund raising for myself and the Hospice and I look forward to him joining me again later in the season. The next game against Rangers on the 17th of October is a game that fundraising will be shared with the Celtic Foundation and the Hospice and I will be joined by two representatives from the Foundation as well as the one and only Mr Stephen Connelly.
