Day Services in our hospice building welcomes all people diagnosed with a life-limiting illness. The team run our services over two days (detailed below), where you can meet up with people in a similar situation to yourself. Some people may be at an earlier or later stage of their illness. Our team of volunteers and nurses work with you to find answers to the physical and emotional challenges that you have. Kilbryde Hospice may not be able to add days to your life, but we aim to add life to your days.
The team focuses on “What Matters to You” and develops each session to address these topics. You may encounter some or all the following sessions: planning for your future, gentle movement, relaxation, mindfulness, complementary therapies, reminiscing, music therapy and individual symptom management and the therapeutic, Kilbryde hospice choir.
We are developing an online platform which allows people not well enough to attend the hospice to participate in our services from their own home.
Wednesday – Kickstart Kilbryde – 11am until 3pm.
Thursday – Day services programme – 10.30am until 14.30pm.
You will be sent a date to be assessed in the hospice by one of our registered nurses, when a decision can then be made as to which day you would like to attend.
“I was very reluctant to attend at first due to low self-esteem and various health problems. I had a wonderful experience and would recommend it to anyone who is apprehensive – you won’t regret it”
During our 10 week programme you have available to you:
“All things are possible, tears and joy in one day”
